Through Floor Lifts

Imagine an elderly wheelchair user confined within his or her own home. Someone like this shouldn’t have to live in a bungalow or a home with many methods of disabled access. Neither should they have to have someone on constant watch to assist their travel between floors. A through floor lift is an ideal solution to this problems. It allows people with disabilities to live as normal a life as possible. There is a range of disabled lifts available such as stair lifts and platform lifts. These two designs both rely on a staircase fixture, which is not always practical or possible. Through floor lifts are an effective alternative to these methods.

Though it may seem destructive to have a through floor lift installed, it can be a relatively simple process, and measures are made to construct a lift that is unobtrusive as possible. The lift can be made to fit in with its surroundings; it needn’t simply be a gaping hole in the ceiling. In a location which cannot justify or practically install a disabled lift reliant upon a staircase, a through floor lift is an ideal and efficient alternative. It solves a problem that wheelchair users should not have to face.
